Webinar Description:
As the 6th installment of the ITE Traffic Engineering Council’s Traffic Signal Timing Webinar Series, the session will examine the principles of preemption and priorities within the traffic signal timing process. Experts from various regions will explain how these timing features work and will provide real life timing examples which utilize preemption or priority features to assist with emergency vehicles, railroads, transit vehicles, and other unique user groups and/or special events.

Learning Objectives:

• Understand the principles of pre-emption and priority and the differences between the two.
• Recognize ways to deploy pre-emption and priority signal timing strategies.
• Recall real life project examples including Emergency Vehicle Pre-Emption, Transit Signal Priority, and Railroad Pre-Emption.
