Summary:

The intersection of scientific events and TSMO that occurs across countries and states is a unique opportunity to learn and engage both the scientific and TSMO communities. The 2024 Solar eclipse is a unique event that will cross Mexico, United States, and Canada on April 8, 2024. This webinar will provide an overview of the solar eclipse from NASA, an overview of early special event planning from a State Emergency Management Agency, and upcoming activities and knowledge transfer opportunities from TSMO partners. Understanding the lessons learned from the 2017 Great American Eclipse that cross the entire continental United States and anticipating a larger national and international crowd to the 2024 eclipse can help anticipate potential impacts and allow for early planning activities and engaging local communities.
