The National Operations Center of Excellence (NOCoE) has released a number of white papers and case studies on recruiting, retaining, and training the TSMO workforce.
One emphasis area identified by practitioners is the need to strengthen pipelines for recruiting and hiring both paraprofessional and professional TSMO practitioners. This emphasis area was identified during the 2022 workforce peer exchange and the 2021 workforce summit.
This webinar will discuss example apprenticeship, co-op, and training programs to inform TSMO recruitment and how these programs can be customized to address recruitment across the pipeline (K-12 to college and those transitioning from other careers) and for both paraprofessional and professional tracks. The webinar will also highlight how successful programs require careful planning regarding recruitment, special supports for target populations, partnerships, and hiring pathways.
Attendees will also learn about specific workforce resources available from NOCoE, as well as other successful practices agencies are deploying to improve their workforce. This webinar will be geared towards both TSMO and human resources practitioners as well as all transportation professionals, so please share with your colleagues.
